NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's soccer team (3-8, 2-3 A-Sun) wrap a three-match homestand this weekend at Whitten Soccer Complex. The Bruins host Jacksonville (8-4-2, 4-1-1 A-Sun) on Friday night and North Florida (5-8, 4-2 A-Sun) on Sunday afternoon.
The Dolphins bring the second best record in the Atlantic Sun to Nashville on Friday night. Jacksonville has won four of its last five contests to boast a 4-1-1 league mark. The team has an overall record of 8-4-2.
JU is led in scoring by Lisa Hensley and Liz Fink, who have netted seven and six goals respectively. The Dolphins' leading goalkeeper is Alexa Rooney. She has logged over 1187 minutes, recorded 81 saves, and a GAA of 1.06.
Jacksonville leads the all-time series, 7-2-2.
North Florida will bring a 4-2 Atlantic Sun record to Nashville this weekend, after winning three of its last five matchups. The Ospreys have an overall record of 5-8.
UNF's leading scorer is freshman Lauren Hopfensperger, who has found the back of the net seven times so far this season. Carolina Lencina has recorded four goals. The Ospreys' leading netminder is Brittany Hahn, who is sporting a 1.64 GAA, 37 saves and over 1095 minutes in goal.
Belmont leads the all-time series, 3-1-1.
The Bruins were edged in regulation by visiting Campbell in their only game last week. Belmont had numerous scoring opportunities and dominated the Camels in shots, 16-8, and corner kicks, 8-5 but was unable to find an equalizer goal in the second half.
Sophomore Laura Harris (Macon, Ga.) led the Bruins with four shots, followed by seniors Jayme Trocino (Franklin, Tenn.) and Erica Carter (Spring, Texas) who each added three. Freshman Nicole Berner (Randolph, N.J.) went the distance between the posts, recording one save.
