SEWANEE, Tenn. – In their first event of the fall season, the Belmont women's golf team defeated Sewanee 5-2 in a dual match held Sunday afternoon at The Course at Sewanee in Sewanee, Tennessee.

In the first match of the day, Sewanee's Meghan Symonds beat senior Emma Kate Liu 6&5. 

Match two saw freshman Katelyn Dunstan defeat Natalie Jauadi 3 &1.  Fellow freshman Cameron Fish picked up a win in the third match as she beat Mary Elizabeth Benton 5&4.

In the fourth match, sophomore Ann Catherine Blackburn outlasted Sophie Morrill 2-up.  Junior Carlee Nanney was victorious in her match as she defeated Corinne Parrish 5&4. 

Sewanee's Caroline Cole won in the sixth match over sophomore Maribeth Peevy 4&2, while freshman Courtney Bryant beat Sarah Battye 4&3 in the seventh and final match.

The Bruins return to the course in two weeks when they compete at the Morehead State Invitational on September 17-18 in Lexington, Kentucky.
