Jamey Givens is entering his fifth season as an assistant coach for Belmont women's basketball.

Respected in coaching circles for his work ethic and dedication to student-athletes, Givens rounds out a decorated Bruin staff. In his last four years at Belmont, Givens has been a part of three-consecutive OVC Championships, three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances and a 66-4 record in OVC play.

Prior to joining the Belmont staff, Givens spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Radford University, helping the Highlanders to 35 victories - including a 27-13 mark in Big South Conference play - and a berth in the 2015 WNIT. Radford also witnessed a 10-win improvement from 2013 to 2014.

Among his responsibilities, Givens oversaw post player development, recruiting, academic compliance, and served as scouting coordinator.

During his final season at Radford, the Highlanders boasted multiple First Team All-Big South selections - Janayla White and Aisha Foy - for the first time in 23 years.

In addition, Givens' attention to detail on the defensive end shined through, as the Highlanders ranked fifth nationally in field goal percentage defense (.333), as well as 14th in scoring defense (53.3), 15th in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.267), and 16th in blocked shots per game (5.6).

Givens arrived in the commonwealth of Virginia after spending three years along Tobacco Road, two seasons as director of basketball operations at Wake Forest University and one season in the same capacity at UNC Greensboro.

Prior to UNCG, Givens spent two seasons on staff at Florida State, assisting in all aspects of the program. He worked extensively with the Seminoles' post players, including 2010 WNBA first-round draft pick Jacinta Monroe and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-teamer Cierra Bravard.

A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Givens earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from Florida State University in 2008, graduating with cum laude honors. He earned his master's degree in sports administration from FSU in 2011.

Givens is married to the former Elisabeth Holby and a father to Emma Ruth.
