Joe Frye is entering his seventh year as an assistant coach with Belmont Track and Field. Joe coaches men’s and women’s throws, leads strength and conditioning for all cross country and track and field athletes, and assists with sprint/hurdle practice.
Frye is a certified USATF Level II coach in both the Throws and Sprints/Hurdles/Relays disciplines, and has a National Strength and Conditioning Association's CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification. He holds a BBA in Music Business as well as a Master’s in Sport Administration.
Originally from Higgins Lake, Mich., Joe developed into one of the most decorated student-athletes in Belmont's NCAA Division I era. Throughout his time as a thrower at Belmont, Joe was tagged Belmont "Athlete of the Year" as well as the Atlantic Sun Conference's "Most Valuable Performer" in 2010. He was an NSCA All-American, as well as a USTFCCCA All-Academic scholar-athlete.
