SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Belmont Bruins will round out the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central Tournament with a Sunday tilt against the San Diego Toreros. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT at Torero Stadium.

The all-time series between the two programs remains knotted up at 0-0-1, as the Bruins and Toreros reached a 1-1 draw in their first-ever meeting in 2018.

Junior midfielder Nigel Leo netted Belmont's lone goal in last year's matchup, as San Diego scored a 54th-minute equalizer to end the match in a draw. Junior goalkeeper Nicolo Dini led the Bruins with eight saves on 28 shots from the Toreros.

LAST TIME OUT: Belmont (0-2-1) fell 2-1 in its first match of the San Diego Central Tournament on Friday night, as junior midfielder Esteban Lestido's second-minute goal was not enough to knock off the San Diego State Aztecs.

Senior midfielder Pablo Pelaez led the Aztecs with a pair of goals in the 11th and 57th minutes. The Bruins tallied three-straight corner kicks in the 89th-minute but were unable to convert on barrage of attempts. Each of Belmont's five shots on goal were taken by different players, as the physical match featured a combined total of 42 fouls and five yellow cards.

SCOUTING SAN DIEGO: The Toreros are led by second-year head coach Brian Quinn, who notched a 7-7-5 (3-1-3, WCC) record in his first season at San Diego in 2018. To end last season, the Toreros stayed unbeaten in six of their final seven matches of the year. San Diego also faced four top-10 ranked teams in 2018, including UCLA, Duke, Portland and Saint Mary's.

Quinn and San Diego are off to an undefeated 3-0-0 start this season, as they have logged seven goals and two shutouts to begin the year. Overall, six different San Diego players have recorded a goal on the season. Senior forward Miguel Berry leads the Toreros in goals (2), assists (2), points (6) and shots on goal (6).

UP NEXT: Belmont will wrap up its five-game road stint on Friday with a match at Purdue Fort-Wayne. The 2019 home opener for the Bruins will come on Tuesday, Sept. 17 against the Memphis Tigers at E.S. Rose Park.
