HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Playing in their first competitive rounds of the season, the Belmont men's golf team stands in eighth place after day one of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational held Monday at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, West Virginia.
On a warm sunny day in the Mountain State, the Bruins carded rounds of 284 and 279 to finish the day in eighth place at 563. Dayton has the team lead at 543, while VCU is second at 545.
Belmont has two golfers among the top-30 after 36 holes. Junior Evan Davis posted rounds of 70 and 68 on Monday to finish the day in a tie for 13th place at 138. He is six shots back on the leader, Dayton's Domenic Maricocchi.
Fellow junior Jack Uselton is tied for 30th place at 141 after shooting rounds of 69 and 72.
Freshman Kohl Kuebler is competing as an individual and is tied for 64th at 147.
