NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two Nashville area tournaments along with trips to seven other states highlight the 2019-20 Belmont Men's Golf Schedule announced on Thursday.

The schedule features 11 events, with five in the fall and six in the spring.

The Bruins kick off their fall season for the fifth straight year at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on September 9-10.  Two weeks later, they head to the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois.  It is the first time BU has played in this event since 2015.

The month of October is highlighted by three events in four weeks.  On September 30-October 1, the team returns to the mountains of North Carolina for the JT Poston Invitational in Cashiers, North Carolina.  Two weeks later, they will stay in the Midstate and compete in the APSU Intercollegiate, held October 14-15 at Dickson's Greystone Golf Course.  They will wrap up the fall slate on October 21-22 at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia.

After a break, the Bruins open up the spring season at a new event, the President's Day Match Play Event on February 17-18 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Hosted by George Washington, the teams participating will compete in a match play format rather than stroke play.

Just over two weeks later, the squad will make their annual trip to Pinehurst for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on March 6-8.  Later in March, BU makes their second straight appearance in the UNA Spring Classic, held March 23-24 on the Schoolmaster Course at The Shoals.

The month of April features three events.  On April 6-7, the Bruins compete for the second straight year at the Wofford Intercollegiate in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  A week later, on April 13-14, they are back in the Midstate for the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at Nashville's Hermitage Golf Course.  It's the first time they have competed in this event since the 2015-16 season, when they captured the team title.

The season wraps up at the OVC Championship on April 26-29 held for the seventh consecutive year at RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  This year's championship will have a new format.  Stroke play will conducted on the first three days and then on the final day, the top four teams from stroke play will compete in a match play format to determine the conference championship.

Should the Bruins win the conference title, NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 17-20, with the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona scheduled for May 29-June 3.

"We are excited about our schedule this year as we'll be playing some great golf courses with some strong fields," said Scott Flynn, Belmont's head coach.   "Also, with the OVC Championship moving to match play for the first time, we're looking forward opening our spring schedule with the President's Day Match Play Championship at Weston Hills in Florida.  This will give our players a taste of the new match play format prior to the OVC.   Overall, it should be a great season and we are looking forward to getting it started in September."
