NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball senior All-America candidate Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) has been named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List, according to

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top mid-major player in NCAA Division I College Basketball.

Windler, despite playing under 20 minutes in two of Belmont's first five games, is averaging 17.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game this season.

The 6-8 guard/forward has keyed Belmont to 72 victories through his first three-plus campaigns, and was the only player in America to average 17.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.5 apg and shoot 40 percent from 3-point distance last season. He was named to the Julius Erving Award Watch List Oct. 17.

Windler, a 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America selection, is the lone student-athlete representative on the 2018-19 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Competition Committee.

Belmont University men's basketball has earned postseason invitations 12 of the last 13 seasons, including seven automatic berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 16 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (Gonzaga, Kansas).
