Jim Richardson enters his first season as the Director of Baseball Operations at Belmont. Prior to joining Belmont, Richardson served as the Associate Head Baseball Coach, Recruiting Coordinator and Hitting Coach at NCAA Division II Tiffin University (2013-2017).  While at Tiffin Richardson recruited teams that consistently performed on the field and in the classroom.  The 2017 squad finished with a GPA of 3.21, set a school record for wins and had nine hitters (with over 100 at-bats) that finished the season hitting above .300.

Over his sixteen year coaching career Richardson has previously served as a Hitting, Infield and Catching Coach at Judson University (2012-2013), Video Coordinator/Internal Scout for the Chicago Cubs Single A Affiliate (2013), the GM of Baseball Operations for USA Baseball’s Great Lakes NTIS Program (2009-2013), Varsity Assistant at St. Charles North High School (2007-2012) and Assistant Coach at Elgin Community College (2001-2005).  He has been a featured speaker at numerous regional baseball camps, state coaching clinics and been a featured guest on baseball podcasts.

Richardson graduated from West Chicago High School in 1997 where he earned four varsity letters in baseball, three unanimous All-DuPage Valley Conference selections, two All-Area selections and held four school records upon graduation: career doubles, career home runs (tied), single season doubles and most saves in a season.  His 23 doubles in his senior year at West Chicago High School ranks 3rd all-time in Illinois High School Association history.  Richardson went on to Elgin Community College where he was a two-time first team All-Skyway Conference selection and a two-time first team All-NJCAA Region IV selection.  Parlaying his success at the junior college level Richardson transferred to the University of South Carolina-Upstate where he lead the team in On-Base Percentage and finished second in Batting Average.

A native of Southern California, Richardson graduated from Judson University with a BA in Organizational Leadership and earned his MA in Psychology from National Louis University.  He currently resides in Nashville with his wife Kathy, daughters Sydney (5), Delaney (3) and son James (1).
