Belmont University Associate Athletic Director David Fish announced Wednesday, July 24, 2019 the hire of Xavier Humphrey to the position of Director of Athletic Marketing.
"After weeks of evaluating a deep and highly-qualified applicant pool, we are thrilled to be announcing the addition of Xavier Humphrey to the Belmont team," Fish said. "Xavier's well-rounded skill set and passion for athletic marketing, established through years of experience at the Division I level will be a great asset for our department. His impact will be immediate, as he looks to further enhance our efforts in fan development, brand management and revenue generation."
Humphrey comes to Belmont after spending the past year as Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing at Iowa State University. Among his responsibilities in Ames, Humphrey spearheaded all aspects of marketing and promotion for Cyclone women's basketball, serving as point of contact for the 2019 NCAA Women's Basketball First & Second Round games at Hilton Coliseum. Humphrey also managed football group ticket sales and the Cyclone tent tailgating program, as well as day-to-day oversight of the Cyclone Alley student section for Iowa State men's and women's basketball home games.
Previously, Humphrey served two years as a marketing graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky while earning his master's degree in kinesiology and sports leadership. While in Lexington, he led marketing efforts for Kentucky volleyball, gymnastics and softball, help setting new attendance standards in each sport. Humphrey also broadened engagement in the local community through strategic partnerships with area charities and non-profits.

From 2014-2016, Humphrey served as Marketing Coordinator at Duke University, running marketing point for Blue Devil volleyball and lacrosse. His responsibilities included conception and execution of all gameday production scripts, advertising and promotion of Olympic sports, and oversight of the Junior Iron Dukes and Kids' Zone for Duke Football.
A former men's basketball student-athlete, Humphrey earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing from the University of Charleston in 2013.
The Wake Forest, North Carolina native is active in ministry and outreach, working with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and God's Pantry Food Bank, among others.
