Heather Copeland is Belmont's Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and is in her 22nd year working for Belmont Athletics.
She is responsible for monitoring departmental adherence to NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference rules and regulations, NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data reporting, student-athlete eligibility matters, scholarships, and legislative educational programming.
Copeland began her career with the Bruins in the fall of 1997 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, working with the volleyball and women’s basketball teams. In 2000, the Marietta, Georgia native moved to the administrative offices as the Assistant Director of Compliance. Copeland was hired as the Director of Compliance in June of 2006.
Copeland graduated from Samford University in 1995 and earned her master's degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 1997.
Heather and her husband Bart have two daughters, Gigi and Kavi and reside in Nashville.
