Grant Cohen joined Belmont University Athletics in fall 2019 as a graduate assistant for media relations. He serves as the primary sport contact for women's soccer and baseball.
Prior to his arrival at Belmont, Cohen served as a student assistant in the athletic communications department at Wichita State. Cohen was the primary contact for men’s and women’s golf in addition to working with softball as the secondary contact, creating media guides, updating statistics, keeping up-to-date records and creating content for digital and social media.
When Wichita State transitioned into the American Athletic Conference, Cohen was chosen as the school’s first representative for the American’s Campus Connect program. With Campus Connect, Cohen created video feature stories that highlighted student-athletes, coaches and important athletic events. As an undergrad student, Cohen worked for a number of media organizations such as KWCH 12, The Wichita Eagle and served as Sports Editor for the school newspaper, The Sunflower. While working in media, Cohen also served as a men's basketball manager for three seasons.
In addition to his experience with intercollegiate athletics, Cohen has worked at the professional sports level. He worked with the Washington Redskins in the summer of 2018 as a digital content intern and served as an intern for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July 2019, earning Rookie of the Year. The Wichita, Kan., native also works for the Nashville Predators as a game day communications intern.
Cohen received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a journalism emphasis from Wichita State in 2019. He is working on his Master of Sport Administration at Belmont.
