NASHVILLE, Ten.. - - Belmont University Director of Athletics Scott Corley announced Wednesday the hire of James Woody to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Budget & Finance.
Woody spent the past four-plus years as Assistant Athletic Director for Business Administration at UT Martin, where he oversaw all business and finance operations for the Skyhawk program.
"We are pleased to welcome James Woody to Belmont University and our athletic department," Corley said. "His experience working within intercollegiate athletics in a business capacity, coupled with his track record, understanding of and appreciation for the Ohio Valley Conference make him a valued addition to our administrative team."
Beyond his business experience, Woody has served as co-head cheerleading coach at UT Martin, leading the Skyhawks to annual awards and a 2017 bronze medal at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Camp.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Belmont family," Woody said. "I look forward to working with Mr. Corley, the coaches and staff, and cannot wait to do my best to make their jobs easier."
A three-year baseball letterwinner and competitive cheerleader at Martin Methodist College, Woody earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics. He went on to earn his master's degree in business administration from UT Martin.
