NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Head Cheerleading Coach Lindsey Wheeley announces the addition of Leighton Eby as an assistant coach for the 2019-20 school year.
Leighton is no stranger to the program. She was a Belmont cheerleader for four years, attended UCA College Nationals twice, and was captain her senior year. She graduated from Belmont in 2014 with a degree in nursing and has continued to be heavily involved with the program since her graduation.
Eby currently works at Nashville Skin: Comprehensive Dermatology Center as a registered nurse. She is working on her master's degree and has plans to become a family nurse practitioner. Leighton is engaged to her former stunt partner and Belmont cheerleading alum, Wilden Nord, and they plan to marry in May 2020.
"Leighton played a big role in the growth of our program when she was on the team and has continued to show the same passion and drive as a member of my support staff the past few years. I'm am thrilled to be able to promote her to assistant coach. She is highly respected by the cheerleaders and will be a great mentor on and off the court for them."
