NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Volleyball has announced that registration is open but filling fast for its all of its summer 2018 Camps.
Online registration remains available for all of the camps – Elite Camp (July 8-10), Skill Clinics (July 9 and 10), High School Team Camp (July 11-13) as well as an All Skills Camp (July 6-7) for beginning volleyball players. The All Skills, Elite, and Skill Clinic camps will be hosted in the Curb Event Center on the campus of Belmont University while the High School Team Camp will be hosted at the Franklin Fieldhouse (1850 General George Patton Drive). A residential option is available for the Elite Camp.
"Our camps will include Elite Camp, Skill Clinics, High School Team Camp and All Skills (for beginners) and are staffed by talented coaches who are from different levels of collegiate programs and current players," said Head Coach Tony Howell.
For players looking to prepare for the next level, the coaching staff offers an Elite Camp for those graduating in the classes of 2019-2021. This camp, scheduled for July 8-10, offers advanced, college level training that will focus on individual skills with competition at the conclusion of the camp.
"We are looking to make our Elite Camp even more competitive with training this summer," Howell said.
The High School Team Camp, scheduled for July 11-13, is for teams only. Each team must consist of at least eight (8) players and one coach at all times. During camp, teams will receive team practices focusing on team development, offensive and defensive systems and competition.
"Our Team Camp will be hosted at Franklin Fieldhouse this summer due to lack of facilities," Howell said. "We hope that you come out for our Team Camp in which we will be able to add a couple of more different training options including sand work," Howell said.
The individual Skill Clinics, scheduled for July 9 and 10, are comprised of three separate sections that cater to setters, hitters and those who want to focus on improving ball control. Specific skills including footwork, hand position, and transitioning will be part of the lesson for players in the Setter Clinic (July 9). The Hitter Clinic (July 9) will focus on arm swing mechanics, shot selections, and being more efficient attacking out of system while the Ball Control Clinic (July 10) will break down the skills needed to pass and play defense efficiently. Lunch is provided and interested athletes may sign up for all three clinics at a discounted rate.
The All Skills Camp, scheduled for July 9-10, focuses on the development of the individual player and basic skills. This camp is aimed to develop the skills of beginner volleyball players. Along with individual development and team competition, we will teach basic offense and defensive systems.
"We are looking forward to another great summer of camps teaching young ladies to become the best they can be on the court," Howell said.
Please note: There is a $50 non-refundable deposit required for registration for the All Skills and Elite Camps. A $300 non-refundable deposit per team is required for the High School Team Camp. The balance may be paid upon arrival.
