NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont Men's Tennis team (9-13, 3-3 OVC) opens play at the OVC Tennis Championship at Nashville's Centennial Sportsplex on Friday afternoon.
Seeded No. 4, Belmont will face No. 5 Austin Peay in a first round match on Friday at 2 p.m. It marks the second year in a row the programs have faced each other in the first round. The Governors wrapped the regular season with a 6-11 record and a 3-3 mark in OVC play.
The winner of the Belmont vs. Austin Peay match will face off against No. 1 seed Tennessee Tech in the semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m. The finals are set for Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Bruins will play in their fifth consecutive championship this week, not missing a berth since joining the Ohio Valley Conference. BU currently stands 9-13 overall and has a 3-3 mark in OVC play, which earned it the No. 4 seed heading into this week's championship.
