MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Belmont University soccer alumnus Tony Doellefeld will play for the NPSL Pro side Milwaukee Torrent the club announced Thursday. The Torrent will compete in the NPSL Pro Founders Cup.
After transferring from Tulsa, Doellefeld was a staple in the Belmont midfield for three seasons. During his time at Belmont, he made 20 starts and played in 49 games. An important member of the Belmont offense, he scored two goals and dished out four assists.
"I feel incredibly happy to have signed my first professional contract. Playing at the next level has been a goal of mine my whole life and to accomplish that is a dream come true," said Doellefeld. "I can't wait to get to Milwaukee and do everything I can to help this club be successful."
Milwaukee Torrent is one of 11 founding members of the new league, in association with the NPSL, stretching across the United States. The club will compete in the first-ever Founders Cup competition From August to November.
Doellefeld graduated with honors from Belmont University in December 2018 with a degree in Accounting.
