11th Place Finish at the Ryman Intercollegiate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont men's golf team finished in 11th place at this week's Ryman Hospitalty Intercollegiate at Richland Country Club in Nashville.  In addition, freshman Evan Davis earned his best finish as a collegian.

The Bruins posted a team score of 304 in Tuesday's final round to finish in 11th place at 904.  Rice won the team title with a mark of 860.

Two Belmont golfers placed among the top-30.  Freshman Evan Davis carded a 74 in the final round to finish in a tie for seventh place at 217.  He finished nine shots behind the medalists, Mitchell Meissner of Rice and Dawson Armstrong of Lipscomb.  It was Davis' best finish as a collegiate and his first top-10 finish of the season.  Fellow freshman Jack Uselton tied for 26th place with a score of 224.  

Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: sophomore Nate Thomson (T-46, 228), senior Logan Matthews (70th, 240), and junior Daniel Booker (79th, 256).

Two Bruins competed as individuals.  Freshman Bogle LaRue placed 73rd at 244, while sophomore Win Temple was 80th at 260.  

The men's golf team is back in action on April 23-25 at the OVC Championship in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
