Incoming Freshman Ted Moon Places Second at the Georgia Open
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. – Ted Moon, an incoming freshman on the Belmont men's golf team, finished second and was the low amateur in the Ziplocal Georgia Open held last week at the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, Georgia.
Moon, a native of Lilburn, Georgia, posted rounds of 73-69-69 for a 54-hole total of 280 (-8) to finish in a tie for second place with Rob Bennett, seven shots behind tournament champion Jay McLuen. He was also the low amateur in the championship, beating Hunter Cornelius by three shots for that honor.
Ted brings some impressive credentials as he enters Belmont later this month. He is a two-time GHSA Class AAAAA State Tournament participant and won the Region 8-AAAAA Championship twice. He also competed on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT) for last two years and has had five top-10 finishes on that tour in the last year.
