MACON, Ga. - - Belmont men's basketball faces Mercer Friday night in the semifinal round of the 2011 General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Basketball Championship.
The Bruins defeated Kennesaw State, 72-57, Wednesday, while Mercer defeated Lipscomb, 73-63, Thursday to advance to the semifinals.
Belmont won the two previous meetings this season, 89-67 Dec. 2 in Nashville, and 75-64 Feb. 24 in Macon. Sophomore Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) is averaging 15.0 points per game in five career games against the Bears.
Belmont committed a season-low eight turnovers in the victory Feb. 24, which included an eight assist-zero turnover performance from junior Drew Hanlen (St. Louis, Mo.).
The game will tip-off at 5:30pm CT, and will be carried live on CSS and ESPN3.com.
