NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Baseball head coach Dave Jarvis and the baseball staff are pleased to announce the signing Jordan Henshaw to a National Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
Henshaw joins the Bruins as a highly touted recruit, named the 7A Hitter of the Year for the state of Alabama in 2017. He hit .470 with a .578 on-base percentage while registering 18 doubles and five home runs last year. The shortstop was listed on the First Team All-State, All-Huntsville Region and Super All-State Baseball rosters concluding his senior campaign. Hailing from New Market, Ala., Henshaw comes to Belmont as a Top 20 player in the state for all divisions. He played for Buckhorn High School under Roger Wright.
"Jordan is a game changing hitter that we were looking for in our 2017 class," assistant coach Aaron Smith said. "He brings a tough-minded attitude that we want in our program. His ability to play in the infield as well as being a switch hitter provides us some options that we needed for next season."
The addition of Henshaw brings the Bruins 2017-18 incoming class to nine.
