NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University student-athletes had another successful semester in the classroom as 2017 fall semester grades were finalized late last month.
For the 2017 fall semester, the departmental grade point average (GPA) was 3.289, which marks the 40th consecutive semester that Belmont student-athletes have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher dating back to the spring of 1998.
"Our student-athletes continue to amaze me with their success in the classroom," said Scott Corley, Belmont's Director of Athletics. "That success is a credit to our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff who continue to maintain our department's commitment to academic excellence."
Other highlights from the spring semester included:
- 19 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
- 45.28% earned Dean's List honors (3.5 GPA).
- 74.41% earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Men's Tennis and Women's Golf had 100% of their athletes earn a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The top-five team GPAs from the fall semester were as follows:
Women's Tennis – 3.64
Women's Cross Country – 3.63
Men's Tennis – 3.57
Women's Golf – 3.54
Women's Soccer – 3.51
