NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Senior women's basketball player Kylee Smith (Marietta, Ga.) and freshman men's basketball player Nick Hopkins (Fayetteville, Tenn.) have been named Trane Belmont Student-Athletes of the Month for December.
Kylee Smith has been a key figure in the women's basketball team's 8-2 star. Through the first month of the season, the Alpharetta, Georgia native leads the team in scoring (18.7), ranks second in assists (45) and third in rebounding (7.1). She had a career-best 31 points versus Tulsa and was named OVC Player of the Week on November 28.
Nick Hopkins has had a great start to his first season as a member of the men's basketball team. Nick has played in every game, ranking fourth on the team in scoring (9.0) and second in steals. In his debut as a Bruin at Washington in early November, he led the team with 22 points. In addition, he was named OVC Freshman of the Week on November 13.
